This is one of those things that motoring journos fear most - a test drive gone wrong, not just ANY test drive, but one involving something as iconic as the Audi R8. Advances in modern chassis development and tire technology have made supercar these days to behave so sedately. But therein lies the problem - the relative serenity gives the driver a false sense of security, pressing him on to keep pushing the limits of the vehicle. A Ferrari F40 from 20 years ago would've told you of its intention to give you a grand send-off to the afterlife in a glorious ball of flame should you try to clown around with it. But modern supercars are a bit like guerilla warfare, all is well and calm until they let go.
