Proton MPV Test Mule Spotted on the road with 5 dudes in it

The Proton MPV test mule has been spotted around the Proton Plant in Shah Alam carrying 5 dudes which we assume are Proton Engineers. From the pictures we can see that fuel cap was sealed with some kind of a masking tape so we are assuming that as most Proton Cars the fuel cap is on the right side of the car. Other than that the tailpipe is routed to the left side of the car while most Toyota Wish I have seen is routed to the right.

Apart from these pictures and some other earlier photos an details we've gathered on the Proton MPV in which there could be two different engine variants offered with one being a 1.6 and another a Nissan powered 1.8 powertrain.

Expect more details and spyshots of the Proton MPV to surface as it gets closer to the probable launch date of March 2009. We at terato.com will keep you posted:

ontah baco lah dulu betul betul ... TEST MULE = BAHAN UJIAN

from wikipedia 'From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A development mule or a test mule in the automotive industry is a vehicle equipped with experimental or prototype components for testing. Automakers evaluate aspects of vehicles before a full pre-production car is built to find problems. Mule cars are drivable and may come after concept cars that sometimes lack critical mechanical components.

Mules are often heavily altered and the exteriors may be disguised as current production vehicles or as completely different models. They are most often used very heavily during testing and are scrapped.

Why is the car so much alike the Toyota Wish?? Why not proton designe something truly different to wow the buyers?????

Posted by Ace, on 08/13/2008 at 16:04

why wish? sebab trend design kereta proton mesti kelihatan sporty and practical. wish memenuhi ciri2 tu. nak buat platform sendiri mahal.) market kereta mpv kat malaysia pun dalam 3-5% jer. ok la tu.

there are several Toyota Wish that are currently being used as a 'test vehicle' for their R&D of the new Proton MPV.I think proton are using at least 10 toyota wish for the on the road testing.. see the earlier post on this website regarding why this wish is not a test drive unit from UMW toyota
