 Did you know that it takes 3.5 seconds for a 600 kg Formula One race car to decelerate from 350 to 80 km/h. Also, the monocoque needs to withstand tremendous impact numbering up to 12 tons of force in order to ensure maximum driver security. For a more detail graphical explanation refer the graphic below:
