MOTHER TRUCKER, that is actually the catch phrase Edaran Tan Chong Motor uses for their new truck, the Navara.
Not exactly a new model, the Nissan has sold more than 480,000 units of the Navara in more than 140 markets. Last year, the Germans awarded it their Truck of the Year last year while UK said this is their Lifestyle Pick Up. Spain also gave it the Truck of the Year award for 2008 while in Thailand, the Navara also won the best 4WD pick up under 2,500cc for 2008.
Good market prospects are being forecast for the compact GLK in the U.S. The GLK will be premiered for the first time on North America market,where sales are scheduled to begin in January 2009.The visual appeal and functionality of its exterior design make the GLK a distinctive and versatile vehicle.So in conjunction with 2008 SEMA, Mercedes has created an unconventional presentation idea under the heading “Tuner Challenge” .The challenge attracted four famous tuners for the presentation of 4-unit of souped up GLK ( “Widestar”, “The GLK Urban Whip”, “The GLK Pikes Peak Rally Racer” and “The GLK Rock Crawler” ).This four most convincing concepts were selected and the winners will be given the opportunity to implement their proposals. This process saw the creation of GLK models that are as leading-edge as they are unorthodox, and that now take centre stage in Mercedes’ participation at this year’s SEMA Show.

We also liked the adaptability of seating and storage arrangements in this luxurious 5+2-seater.
Another bonus was the striking AMG-bodystyling package at the front and rear.
In addition to the typically comfortable Mercedes-Benz leather-clad cabin with smooth wood surfaces and metallic finishes, the long wheelbase of the R 280 L enables plenty of legroom for occupants in all three rows of seats.
