The Ideal 4WD is the tagline for the new Perodua Nautica lovingly called the “Naughty Car” by Perodua’s MD Datuk Syed Abdull Hafiz bin Syed Abu Bakar. For a preview of the new car; members of the media were treated to a preview of the Nautica at Genting Highland.
The upcoming Perodua Nautica scheduled to be released middle of next month is said to come with a full time 4WD with centre differential lock powered by the 1.5 L 3SZ-VE four pot engine. The Daihatsu Terios which the Nautica is based on was launched in Japan back in 2006 replacing the first generation also known as Perodua Kembara in Malaysia.
The 1.5 L 3SZ-VE in the 5 seater daihatsu terios deliver 77kW @ 6000 to all four corners with torque of 140 N-m @ 4400 rpm. While the one used on the Toyota Rush delibver 80kW (109PS) @ 6,000 rpmn with max. torque of 141Nm @ 4,400 rpm.
